CentrO, Oberhausen is Germany’s largest super-regional shopping centre and one of the largest in Europe

The Prime leasing team has been involved since day one, firstly in the development and execution of the original retail use and tenant mix concept and the 70,000 sq m extension in 2012

Alastair J. Green

Alastair J. Green

Managing Director


Alastair founded PRIME in 1999 and has been central to shaping the success of the firm and it’s clients since then.

His experience includes being sole leasing advisor to the Stadium group during the development and lease up of Centro, Germany’s largest and preeminent shopping centre. Alastair and the leasing team have continued uninterrupted in this role throughout the assets various changes in ownership.

A further landmark in Alastair’s leadership of PRIME was the creation of the company’s asset management business in 2005, which now manages some € 1bn of retail real estate on behalf of five European institutional investors.

Prior to PRIME, he was a partner in charge of German retail leasing at Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield).

Alastair is a Chartered Surveyor and has a passion for motor racing, five a side football and English tea.

Marcel Jörke

Marcel Jörke

Head of Leasing


Marcel Jörke is head of leasing at PRIME. He has been with the company since  2005 and led the leasing team since 2006. Marcel became a member of PRIME’s management board in 2011.

Marcel’s decades of leasing experience encompass the full breadth of the German retail market including Shopping Centres (including the Multi Development German portfolio, Huma Sankt Augustin and Waterside Bremen), retail parks, supermarkets and high street retail. He has a close understanding of what drives retailer decisions through his impressive and close networks of contacts across the industry.

Prior to joining PRIME, Marcel was with real German supermarket chain (part of the METRO group) in their leasing team. 

Marcel enjoys long distance running, is rather useful on the football pitch and wishes he could spend every summer holiday in California.

Richard Kolb

Richard Kolb

Head of Investment / Client Services


Richard is the newest member of the PRIME senior management team, and he heads up Investment Advisory, deal structuring and capital raising.

Richard Kolb is an experienced and highly qualified investment manager and advisor specialising in European Real Estate. His most recent senior role as Director at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in London saw him leading CPPIB's real estate investment programmes in the UK and Germany from 2008 to 2015. Prior to that Richard was a Fund Manager and European Investment Director at Oppenheim Immobilien KAG.

His skill set combines strength in investment strategy formulation and execution and he has relationships with best in class operators, institutional investors and capital managers across Europe. He has used his market insight and relationships to deliver outstanding ROI and business growth. Major direct and M&A investments include Westfield Stratford (partner Westfield and APG), Centro Oberhausen (partner with Stadium Group and Unibail Rodamco) and Unibail Rodamco Deutschland.

Richard enjoys golf, skiing, sailing and Wienerschnitzel, and tends to drive too slowly on German motorways.

Michael Gliss

Head of Development Management


Michael leads the PRIME Projects development management team. Previously Michael and his team spent many years planning and project managing the construction and development activities at CentrO in Oberhausen and joined PRIME in 2016 to significantly enhance the company’s in-house development management and project management capabilities. Michael is an experienced architect and development manager with a strong track record in the retail sector.

He led the team responsible for the Masterplanning and project management of Centro Oberhausen, Germany’s largest and preeminent shopping centre. Following the opening of the centre in 1996 he and his team was also responsible for the numerous ongoing construction initiatives and extensions. In addition, Michael and his team were responsible for tenant coordination and technical approvals for all shop fitouts of Centro’s 300 retail and restaurant units.

The addition of PRIME Projects provides PRIME and its clients with an invaluable in-house knowledge resource in development and construction related matters. In particular its provides a natural complement to PRIME Asset Management in their execution of numerous development and rebuilding initiatives across their portfolio.

In his spare time Michael likes fast cars and motorbikes and loves a good barbecue, whatever the weather.

Andre Busch

Andre Busch

Asset Manager


André has been asset manager for 2 closed retail portfolios since 2008 and is responsible for various property-specific tasks. These include in particular the improvement of planning law, strategic planning and implementation of portfolio development and real estate strategy (e.g. conversion/construction of specialist stores, letting strategies), management and monitoring of costs, budget and cash flow, CapEx budgeting, control and management of external real estate property management and other external service providers.

In addition, he was involved in several acquisition processes - both on the buyer and seller side.

After completing his training as a businessman in the real estate and housing industry, he continued his education as a state-certified business economist specialising in the housing industry and real estate credit. Subsequently, he acquired the qualification of Certified Shopping Center Manager (EBS).

He began his professional career in 1998 at ICM GmbH (today Apleona GVA). His career then led him via Commerz Real AG to Düsseldorf to PRIME in 2008.

André is married and has 1 child.

Kay Herrmann

Kay Herrmann

Head of Legal Department, PRIME In House Legal Counsel


Kay leads the PRIME Legal Department and has been with the company since 2006.

He and his team provide PRIME and it’s clients with the benefit of their broad legal knowledge base but have a particularly strong focus on German commercial Landlord and Tenant law. The core role of the legal team is to transfer the commercial terms negotiated by their colleagues in the PRIME leasing and asset management teams into robust legal form.

Kay and his team also work closely with the external legal advisors of PRIME’s clients or tenants. Prior to PRIME Kay trained and worked for two separate mid-sized Legal firms with a strong retail real estate focus as well as at the Gerling Group as in-house lawyer.

Kay enjoys golf and is a passionate 1.FC Köln Fan.

Ralf Schrankel

Ralf Schrankel

Head of Asset Management & out of Town Retail


Ralf has been a member of our Asset Management team for more than 10 years. He is responsible for the location development of a large number of retail properties, including a wide range of tasks and individual measures.

This includes in particular the elaboration of individual property strategies within the scope of property acquisition with consistent monitoring and implementation in day-to-day business. Key core tasks at the same time include the creation of building rights with subsequent constructional implementation as well as letting issues. In addition, he also takes care of the optimisation of running costs, the management and control of property/facility management and other service providers as well as the corresponding quality management.

He is also responsible for ongoing operational property reporting to portfolio management, monitoring ongoing property performance, identifying divestment opportunities and managing and implementing acquisitions and sales.

After completing his training as a real estate merchant and his part-time training as a real estate specialist, Ralf joined our team in 2007 after more than 10 years with a regional real estate company.

Ralf is married and father of twin daughters. He is an enthusiastic sportsman and, as a passionate Cologne citizen, he consistently ignores the Düsseldorf sign on his way to the office.
